How to Build an App eBook Matthew Campbell Reviews
I have been developing with IOS for more than 2 years and this is an excellent reference for anyone interested in IOS development, especially the new comers. Matt takes you methodically through the MVC (Model, View, Controller) concept of mobile app development. It reads easy. Complex concepts are introduced in a fashion of learning small components and building on that understanding. The incorporation of Core Data is particularly well done, as are all of the lab exercises on Table View presentation and delegation.
I could tell right from the start that this author has lots of teaching experience. The result is a very clean book, focused on the absolute necessities to get you started, or as the author puts it a no-BS approach to learning iOS development.
The book revolves around a single case study, making you build a simple app step-by-step. Although simple, the app you build is complex enough to teach you advanced stuff like Core Data, Storyboards and list views; things that are at the core of any iOS app you'll ever build.
I truly believe this book provides the best way to learn iOS from scratch. Highly recommended.
This book is a must for any newbie iOS programmer. It provides a perfect blend of foundation and advanced techniques for Mobile App Mastery. Matt is a great author and master developer. I've been referencing his tips and guides since my first efforts with iPhone development. The incorporation of Apple's Core Data framework makes this a much-needed guide for any developer wishing to incorporate data into app design. I struggled with this early on and wish only that this book had been available back then. Great reference and a must-have!!
Great beginner book. Easy to understand. Straight forward process. I liked the ability to build an app along the way!
Very good progressive approach where the puzzle gets complete thanks to a lot of well documented and clear labs. The companion book for object programming, offered as a premium, has a lot of added value!
The support files which go along with this book are no longer available, so it no longer possible to follow along building the app described in the book.
Great book for a newbie who wants to learn how to create an app. Good coding examples and great description of what these codes mean and how you can apply them during development of your app.
A good read and educational.
